009. #TeamTaylor - Little Penang

This post was supposed to be posted like long, long time ago. oopsie daisy~

Ok, let's blame it on my internet connection. I live in Jakarta, when the name of the city itself is mentioned your brain quickly show the images of bad traffics (Thats of course if you've been to Jakarta). You can't expect to have a ZOOM ZOOM internet connection here even if the National Telecommunication Company named their Internet "Speedy" ITS BOGUS I TELL YOU! So the problem is I am unable to post the pictures in here.

But finally I can share with you what happened when we're about to catch the movie Breaking Dawn part 2! Honestly, I was disgusted after watching Breaking Dawn part 1. I don't know about you guys, but I would never guessed that the movie is going to be split like that. The nasty visual of Bella dying and giving birth is nauseating for me. When suddenly her spine just cracked, just plain scary.

So, I don't really care about the part two of the movie. Until my not-so-little sister(a huge fan of Taylor Lautner - the wolf) wants to watch the movie, we joined the long queue on Friday night, thinking we might get a chance to watch (optimist). When we saw only first row seats left, we said to ourselves - "Alright! No biggy. We'll watch tomorrow."

With all that excitement in the bubble and "POP!", the only left thing to do is EAT.

A happy tummy makes a happy person.

So we stroll around and found Little Penang.

There are so many things to choose and try. I could have ordered everything, but I didn't. It was late at night and I am trying to cut down on my intakes. HAHA...

So, I'm down for their Roti Canai and Chicken Curry. (Confession: I thought this was Prata or Naan, but something inside me is telling me,  No its not! So I went and check the receipt.)

The Roti Canai is yum. Crispy and not oily. The chicken curry is thick and strong in flavor. Definitely good for the dipping. Good amount of curry served.

We also try the laksa. My sister said the taste is more to Malaysian Laksa instead of those Laksa where you get in Singapore's hawker center. Oh, how I miss hawker center.

I also order Soymilk Cendol. I know right. Sooooo interesting, I've gotta try it. Hehehe. Good amount of cendol. The cendol is not tough and starchy. I could taste the soya-taste in the soymilk. It was good.

We agree that we could spend hours just sitting down and chillaxing in there, trying all the food. Hehe (:

I would definitely come back and try other stuff.
Very tasty place. Love it!

I don't receive any financial reward or some sort. Just sharing to everyone a good and affordable place to eat thats worth your money. I'm not a food critic, my taste palette is not like super sensitive or whatever. I just share what I think is nice. Hehe

008. Head bump

I woke up late today.
The sun is hiding behind the grey clouds.
The morning air is chilly.
I was getting ready, and the door to my closet collapse on me.
It hit me right on my forehead.
BAM!
My skull, thank God for strong bones.
Thank you, mom, for forcing hi-cal milk down my throat.
 Blacked-out.
Dizzy.
Hey, I am still standing.
Small scratch mark on my forehead, makes me looks like Harry Potter.
Except mine is a vertical line, not a thunder.
That'd be cool.
Bumps appear.
Ice pack on.

I thank God for whatever happened today.
No questioned asked.
Though you always wished everything bad is out of the way.
But learn to be grateful.

Have a good wednesday, everyone.

What incident that you learned to be grateful for?

007. FOODISASTER - Pao De Quijo

What is this? Flatten Pao de Quijo...
Is it the recipe?
Is it the tapioca flour?
Or is it just me?

I think its just me...

This is the recipe I followed, please help me? somebody?

Pao de Quijo (Brazilian Cheese Softies)
I am sorry I forgot where I found this..

2cups whole milk
8tbsp butter, melted
½cup canola oil
cup tapioca flour
4 eggs
2cups parmesan/mozzarella
¼cup grated cheddar cheese
dash of salt

1. Mix milk, salt, oil and butter in a pot. Bring to a boil. As soon as it boils, remove from heat.
2. Stir tapioca flour into the milk and butter mixture. Stir in eggs and cheese. Mix well.
3. Let mixture cool for 15-30 minutes, or chill in the fridge for 15 minutes.
4. With tapioca-floured hands, shape the dough into golf-sized balls and place them on the baking sheet.
5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until puffed up and are golden.

I followed the recipe, forgot where I copy them from. I wrote it on my recipe folder. I am sorry, if this is your recipe, please help and I'll put your credit.

Thanks,
Bea

006. Good Morning

Good morning!
Good morning God!
Thank You for the Sun, shining through the heavy moss green curtain in my room.
Thank You for the air I breath, I am still alive.
Thank You for the water, I can wash my face and brush my teeth.

It's a brand new day.
It means God has given me a chance to be a better person.
It means Life has a new experience for me to learn.
It means Problem is waiting to be solved.

Today, my not so little sister put up together snacks for me. Sweet kid.
She made a sheep-jammed sandwich.
She cut out the bread with a sheep bread-cutter (we got it when we bought Kraft Singles Cheddar).
She spread Raspberry Preserved from St. Dalfour.
She also packed me bite-sized Cheese Flaky Pastry. (which she bought from Bali)

Thanks Ernestine! You totally made my day (;
How is your day today?

farewell deb-deb
Debbie is going back to Papua New Guinea!

Debbie is a friend, a sister, a teacher, a student and a daughter.
She has the brightest smile.
She is gentle and soft. like plushies! No! I meant her heart!
She is patient.
SHE IS A LOVELY PERSON. YES, YOU ARE DEBBIE!

A rainbow cake would be the only cake fit for a person like Debbie.
Deep down, she has been wanted to try a rainbow cake. God put it in my heart, to bless her with a 24cm rainbow cake.

I really hope you are enjoying your time in Papua.
Eventhough, you have no electricity from 6pm-12midnight.
No internet connection. Thank God for Blackberry.
The sun shines really bright and you have no sunblock. (I can totally send it to you from Jakarta :D)
BUT
You can have seaside breakfast every morning.
You can walk by the beach.
You can breath the fresh air AKA no pollution.
You can teach the kids, who are waiting for you!!!
You're a blessing for them.

May everything you do, succeed. We hope we have the opportunity to visit Serui Island.
We miss you.

God bless you always.

XOXO
Bea

003. One of those moments...

This is going to be a random post, but I feel that I need a dose of testosterone. What the heck?
I know right! Too much estrogen. I get emotional about little things that don't matter.
I miss my dad. I miss my grandpa.
They all together in one place in eternity. *sobs* oh geez, don't be a softee.
I miss them dearly madly, deeply, truly.

When I do miss them, I'll try to stop thinking about them because if I do it will bring me to tears. And I'm in a place where no tears are allowed.

I am pretty good at distracting my brain (ooh so this is why I find it hard to concentrate) and Google is my-distraction-partner. Together we discover things, LOTS OF things...
Like how I found this cute wooden spoons with Grandpa quotes. I love them! Kevin has other wooden spoons with quotes on their handles.

Wooden Spoons by Kevin Bevill

In the moment like this, I always remember..
Learn to treasure the people around you. No matter how INCREDIBLY annoying they can be, love them.
Learn to be the blessing for those around you. By words or by action, everything counts.

I miss the men of my life xo
